Biographic Sketch of Bishop Lorenzo Edwards

Pastor Lorenzo Edwards was born in Gary, Indiana to Willie and Barbara Edwards. Pastor Edwards attended William A. Wirt High School graduating in 1989. He continued his education at Rangeley College in

Colorado, where he played basketball and baseball. In 1993, Pastor Edwards attended Vincennes University earning an Associates of Science Degree, going on to Indiana State University for two years. During his attendance at Reed Christian College, he received a Bachelor of Theology Degree.

     Pastor Edwards accepted the Lord as his personal Savior, and the Holy Spirit filled him. He became a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Gary, Indiana. Moving to California, he joined New Saint Paul Baptist Church in 1996. Under the leadership of Dr. Jimmy Hartwell. Pastor Lorenzo Edwards grew stronger in the Lord.

At New St. Paul Pastor Edwards served as a Deacon for 3 years and in the year of 2000, God called him to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Edwards preached his first message April of 2000, at New St. Paul Baptist Church, going on to serve as Assistant Pastor under Dr. Jimmy Hartwell for two years. Dr. Jimmy Hartwell retired Pastoring January 1, 2005 appointing Pastor Edwards as the Pastor of New St. Paul Baptist Church. Pastor Edwards received installation as Pastor On Sunday, September 18, 2005. For nine year Pastor Edwards served faithfully at New St. Paul Baptist Church, he is grateful for the growth and opportunity.

In January 2012, Pastor Lorenzo Edwards joined Kingdom Destiny Fellowship. Pastor Edwards served diligently in the fellowship and God elevated Pastor Edwards quickly. Serving first as the District Overseer of the Destiny District, which covered churches in Orange County and Long Beach. Pastor Edwards was elevated shortly to serve as California State Overseer in 2013. Pastor Edwards moved up in the ranks to serve on the Apostolic council of Kingdom Destny Fellowship International, Servings as Bishop Elect over Southern and Northern Africa.

     God lead Pastor Edwards to organize New Destiny Purpose Church in December 2013. Meeting with 10 faithful members at Denny’s restaurant on 17th St. in Santa Ana, CA December 23rd, organized New Destiny Purpose Church. New Destiny Purpose Church held its first service on January 5, 2014 at 600 S. Grand St. Ste. 111 in Santa Ana, CA. The church enjoyed a wonderful service 21 people joined that day. God continued to do great things in the Life of Pastor Edwards. On June 1, 2014, God led Pastor Edwards to begin services at 1932 17th St. Santa Ana, CA. After a year there God lead Bishop Edwards to move to Westminster CA. At our current location 7171 Trask Ave Westminster CA. Over the years, Pastor Edwards has proven himself worthy of this calling. Pastor Edwards is a powerful man of God, he preaches by example. Pastor Lorenzo  Edwards is empowering the vision as he stands on the shoulders of giants who went before him.
